The Art of Eva and Franco Mattes

This Italian couple’s latest work is taken from previous works of great artists. Literally. They are now exhibiting their piece “Stolen Prices” which is a combined display of tiny pieces taken from real famous artworks. The filchees include Kandinsky, Koons, Burri, and Warhol. The piece was kept secret from the 90’s so as to pass the stautue of limitations, but the couple claims their intent was not to harm the pieces, but to give tribute. Read the Washington Post Review and see more of the couple’s work including some interesting virtual world performances at http://0100101110101101.org (click on the large intro picture to get into the site).
